This past weekend I visited the Art Institute of Chicago just in time to view the exhibit Project a Black Planet: The Art and Culture of Panafrica.
Pan-African culture has always spoken to me, and rightfully so, because my ancestors were Garveyites.
This exhibit cannot be described in words and two hours was not enough time to truly take in the creativity, and authenticity of this exhibit.
Every art form was on display, including paintings, murals, videos, audio, mixed media, and antique books, magazines, and music records.
I appreciated that the art was not only from artists of the present day but artists from the 1930s to the present day.
Some photos display my favorite parts of the exhibit.
